Nebraska, Purdue, and Wisconsin all filled their HC openings this season. Matt Rhule, Ryan Walters, and Luke Fickell will begin their B1G coaching tenure in 2023.

247Sports revealed what they thought about some of the hirings at Power 5 programs around the country on Monday, with a grade for each move.

Fickell received the highest grade of the three new head coaches with an A+. Rhule came in second with an A, while Walters earned a B.

Fickell comes to Wisconsin after taking Cincinnati to the College Football Playoff in 2021. The Badgers let go of Paul Chryst after losing to Bret Bielema’s Illinois team earlier this season.

The Huskers will be hoping that Rhule can rebuild Nebraska to its former glory. Walters is getting his shot at Purdue after a successful 2021 campaign with the Illinois defense.

It’ll be interesting to see which of these first-year head coaches will have the most success.
