Minnesota worked some magic on Monday. The Golden Gophers flipped not one, but two wideouts away from their former commitments.
Along with T.J. McWilliams from Purdue, Kenric Lanier is now a Golden Gopher. Lanier was previously committed to Vanderbilt before changing his mind. Lanier is a 3-star WR from the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite.
Here’s what Lanier had to say about the recent change of heart:
“First I want to thank Vanderbilt and the entire coaching staff for giving me an amazing opportunity to play college football at the highest level. They have been wonderful towards me and my family throughout this process and I wish them nothing but the best moving forward. I have decided that I will be decommitting from Vanderbilt University and committing to the University of Minnesota.”
