Avery Henry announced on his Twitter on Monday the heartbreaking news that has osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. Henry said that he was diagnosed a few days ago.
Henry enrolled at Ohio State on June 1 as a former 3-star offensive tackle from St. Clairsville, Ohio. He was the 58th-rated offensive tackle and the 20th-rated from the state of Ohio, according to 247Sports Composite.
He chose to play for the Buckeyes out of 5 other schools including Iowa State, Syracuse, and West Virginia.
Henry gave a small message after his announcement:
“I will fight this! I have never been a statistic and I never will! I want to thank my brothers and coaches for the endless support!”
Henry did not address his football future, with his health being the top priority right now.
This isn’t the way I wanted to release this, but I know no other way. A couple days ago I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer. I will fight this! I have never been a statistic and I never will! I want to thank my brothers and coaches for the endless support!
