Ronnie Green, Nebraska’s Chancellor, has announced he will be retiring from his position.

In a video posted to his Twitter account on Tuesday morning, Green announced his decision to retire and step down from his duties overseeing the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He said he will retire at the end of June 2023.

Green became UNL’s Chancellor back in 2016, succeeding Harvey Perlman, becoming the school’s 20th Chancellor.

In the video, Green pays respect to the Husker community and the honor it was to take on the esteemed role.

In 2010, I answered the call to come back to Nebraska, as the vice Chancellor of UNL’s INR, Green said. …and then ultimately, seven years ago I enthusiastically answered the call of service to assume the role as your 20th Chancellor, which I said at the time was almost too surreal to believe for a first-generation college-educated, farm boy.

Green says he plans to focus more on the next chapter with the focus on family and growing his faith.
