Jack Sanborn, former Wisconsin LB, receives disappointing injury update

Jack Sanborn did not have many expectations for his rookie season after going undrafted and landing with the Chicago Bears. However, he stepped into a crucial starting role after the franchise traded Roquan Smith midseason.
Unfortunately, Sanborn’s rookie season is now getting cut short. Following the game against the Philadelphia Eagles, Sanborn is landing on IR with an ankle injury, effectively ending his rookie season.

In 6 games as a starter, Sanborn totaled 59 total tackles, 5 TFL, 2 sacks and 3 QB hits with the Bears. Three of those games included double-digit tackles with a career-high 15 for Sanborn in the loss to the New York Jets.
While Sanborn’s season is over, it would appear he showed enough during 2022 to prove he’s a piece that can help Chicago’s defense next year and beyond. Hopefully, he gets a bigger shot to show what he can do down the road.
