Kadyn Proctor is not waiting until Wednesday, delivering the news Iowa fans everywhere were dreading Tuesday evening.

Committed to the Hawkeyes since June, Proctor had been trending toward Nick Saban’s Alabama program in recent days. He finally made the news official ahead of the Early Signing Period, flipping his commitment away from Iowa and to the Crimson Tide.

Proctor previously announced he would be signing Wednesday morning when the Early Signing Period opens up.

Listed at 6-foot-7 and 330 pounds, Proctor is a 5-star prospect and the No. 2 OT nationally per the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He is also the 12th overall prospect in the country and one of the highest-rated prospects to ever come out of Iowa.

There’s no denying the loss is a big one for Kirk Ferentz and the Hawkeyes in the class of 2023.
