Matt Rhule is off to a good start. The recently hired Nebraska head coach secured a big signing with the addition of 4-star athlete Malachi Coleman.
The 6-foot-5, 205-pound prospect played wide receiver and defensive end at Lincoln East High School in Nebraska.
Coleman is listed as the 63rd overall player in his class in the nation according to 247Sports. He is currently Nebraska’s highest-ranked 2023 commit.

Rhule, who received an eight-year, $74 million dollar contract from Nebraska, is looking to turn things around after the Cornhuskers went 4-8 last season. Nebraska lost five of the final six games after firing former head coach Scott Frost earlier in the season. Interim head coach Mickey Joseph was also dismissed after being charged with felony assault.
As for Coleman, Rhule said the player and his family have already grown close in a short amount of time with the program. Rhule also emphasized the importance of starting his recruiting “at home” and working from there.
🏈Rhule on in-state recruits: "You always start at home. And we let a couple get out of the state this year. And I didn't want that to happen…I want them to know they can achieve all their dreams here." #Huskers
