Ryan Day had some comments about the anxiousness around the program after his second loss to Michigan and some concerns with recruiting. Dylan Raiola, an elite quarterback prospect for 2024, recently decommitted and the Buckeyes have lost several key defensive recruiting battles for the 2023 class.
“I know the program’s in a great place,” Day said at his Early Signing Day press conference per Griffin Strom of 11 Warriors.

The Early Signing Period started Wednesday and a lot of Buckeye fans are looking to see what recruits land. Players like Damon Wilson, an elite 5-star Edge, were originally favored to join the Buckeyes but there is unease that he’ll sign with the program.
Day’s record overall at Ohio State is currently 45-5 and he already has two College Football Playoff appearances with a National Championship appearance in 2021.

Day made several changes after the disappointing season in 2021 including hires like the new defensive coordinator Jim Knowles. The expectations will never change on the field for the Buckeyes and Day understands the standard of the program along with its legacy of winning but concerns around Ohio State have begun to grow.
