Jyaire Hill pulled the wool over everyone’s eyes. Well, except for Michigan that is.
Hill committed to the Wolverines Wednesday during the Early Signing Period. The surprise in all this? Michigan wasn’t listed as 1 of his top 5 programs when announced earlier this week.
A native of Illinois, Hill listed the in-state school, Florida, Kentucky, Missouri and Purdue as his final 5 programs that he would be selecting from. But when taking the stage to make the announcement official, Hill surprised everyone by pulling out a blue hat with the Maize M slotted across the middle.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 170 lbs., Hill is a 4-star ATH via the class of 2023 and the No. 2 player out of Illinois per the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The publication also ranks Hill as a CB at the next level, and he comes in as the No. 23 CB in the country.
The Wolverines have impressed in terms of adding transfer talent, but also have added young prospects for their future endeavors. Currently, Michigan ranks No. 1 in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings and No. 17 in the latest class rankings following Day 1 of the Early Signing Period.
Michigan added 23 total recruits, 9 of which are 4-star talents.
