Early Signing Day 2023 is officially winding down. The B1G landed many commitments from some of the top recruits in the 2023 recruiting cycle.
All of the big dogs in the B1G held on to the top recruiting classes in the conference. Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Michigan State, and Nebraska had the top five 2023 classes in the B1G when it was all said and done.
The only teams that have 2023 recruiting classes ranked higher than the Buckeyes are Miami, Texas, Georgia, and Alabama. Ryan Day’s 2023 class includes one 5-star commit, 18 4-star commits, and one 3-star commit.
One of the bigger losses for the B1G ahead of Early Signing Day was 5-star OT Kadyn Proctor. Proctor flipped from Iowa to Alabama after visiting with the Crimson Tide over the summer.
There were some new head coaches that had their first experiences with Early Signing Day in the B1G. Matt Rhule, Luke Fickell, and Ryan Walters all witnessed what it’s like on Wednesday. Rhule’s 2023 class is currently the best among the first year B1G HC’s.
