Vincent Carroll-Jackson is sending out Christmas joy to Nebraska fans, and a warning to the rest of the B1G.

The Husker defensive lineman posted to Twitter a photo of the newest recruits set to terrorize B1G offensive linemen. Those listed included Riley Van Poppel, Princewill Umanmielen, and former Florida linebacker Chief Borders.

Matt Rhule’s first offseason in Lincoln has gotten off to a promising start. The Huskers singed 21 prospects for the 2023 recruiting cycle, including three 4-star commits and 18 3-stars commits per 247Sports.

Rhule also worked his magic in landing talent via the transfer portal.

Former Georiga Tech quarterback Jeff Sims committed to the program just before Early Signing Period, and is expected to compete for 1st-team reps with 2022 starter Casey Thompson. Nebraska also added former Texas A&M defensive lineman Elijah Jeudy, Florida cornerback Corey Collier, and Arizona State offensive tackle Ben Scott.

The Huskers’ defensive front needed a push this offseason after recording 21 sacks in 2022, 101st most among all FBS teams. Nebraska finished 79th in scoring (27.6 points per game), and 108th in run defense (189.1 yards per game).

Nebraska will not play in a bowl game later this month after finishing 4-8 under then-coach Scott Frost, and later interim coach Mickey Joseph. Joseph won three games during his tenure.
