PJ Fleck updates Tanner Morgan’s status for Pinstripe Bowl
By Scott Green
Published:
PJ Fleck, Minnesota’s head coach, made the announcement that Tanner Morgan has been cleared to play in the Pinstripe Bowl against Syracuse. The Minnesota quarterback suffered an upper-body injury at the end of the first half against Nebraska.
Athan Kaliakmanis has started for the remaining four weeks of the regular season with a record of 3-1 and potentially may have to play a 5th. Kaliakmanis has recorded 866 yards passing with 3 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.
Note: #Gophers coach PJ Fleck said Tanner Morgan has been cleared to play in Pinstripe Bowl on Thursday, but wouldn’t say if super senior QB will play vs. Orange. After Morgan’s injuries, Athan Kaliakmanis has been blossoming with starts.

Morgan recorded 1,324 yards, 7 touchdowns, 5 interceptions and a 67.3 completion percentage this season. He has played mostly consistently and provided a solid offensive performance throughout this year.
Morgan’s experience is one of his biggest attributes and provides the Gophers with a lot of maturity at the quarterback position.
