Raheem Blackshear wasn’t going to be stopped before he reached the end zone.

Rutgers was first to strike in Saturday’s game between the Scarlet Knights and Illinois, as Blackshear punched it across the goal line from 19 yards out. The run wasn’t spectacular — the offensive line opened up a giant hole — but the running back sent a clear message at the end of the play.

Don’t mess with me.

The touchdown was the third of the season for Blackshear, a freshman for the Scarlet Knights. He entered Saturday’s game with just 112 yards on 18 carries.

If he continues to run like that, the number of touches Blackshear sees is going to increase dramatically as the season goes on.
