Michigan players hilariously try to describe TCU’s mascot

What exactly is a Horned Frog? To most college football fans, it’s TCU’s mascot.

But really, what is a horned frog? Not even players from Michigan’s roster are completely sure what the actual animal is that crawls across the southwest region of the United States.

During a segment on BTN, players were asked if they knew what a horned frog truly was. Several Wolverines were honest from the start, shanking their heads in disbelief as to what the lizard (yes, lizard, not amphibian) was. Others went the safe option, stating that it’s the mascot of the program they’ll face on Saturday in the Fiesta Bowl for a shot at a trip to the national championship.

Most players were shocked to find out that the frog was just a slogan brought up by the school, and the mascot had no correlation to the actual name. Defensive end Derrick Moore might have taken the cake with his answer when he found out that the frog wasn’t a different species.

“I know what a wolf is,” Moore said. “A wolf will eat a frog.”

Well, Moore isn’t wrong, but then again, Michigan’s mascot is a wolverine, which basically is a badger on steroids and lives off of P90X workouts in the woods. At this point, who knows what any animal is in the jungle kingdom, right?

The Wolverines and Horned Frogs will kick off from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. on Saturday at 4 p.m. E.T. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN.
