Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines are all business headed into the CFP matchup with TCU on Saturday. But in Friday’s press conference, the Michigan head coach had time for some laughs.
Harbaugh and TCU head coach Sonny Dykes sat down ahead of Saturday’s Fiesta Bowl to discuss the matchup. Both Harbaugh and Dykes are the sons of football coaches.
Harbaugh’s father, Jack was the longtime coach at Western Kentucky, while Dykes’ father Spike was the head coach at Texas Tech for 13 years.
Dykes shared a story about his father having a drink with a rival coach the night before a big game. Jokingly, Dykes then invited Harbaugh to have a bourbon with him at 1 a.m. on Saturday morning before their own game. In what might be the most hilarious decline of an invitation, Harbaugh replied “That’s past my bedtime.”
Jim Harbaugh and Sonny Dykes talked about growing up as coaches’ kids.
Dykes recalled a story about his dad drinking late at home with a rival coach the night before a game. He jokingly invited Harbaugh for a 1 a.m. bourbon tonight.
