Former Maryland Terrapins safety Darnell Savage tallied his first professional Pick Six Sunday afternoon, intercepting a Kirk Cousins pass and taking it the distance to give Green Bay a 14-3 lead early.

Savage scampered 74 yards, breaking a few tackles along to the way before reaching the end zone. Defensively, it’s hard to ask for a much better start in Green Bay.

This is Savage’s 4th year in the NFL after being drafted in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He had 182 tackles, 8 interceptions, a sack and 2 touchdowns across his 4 years in College Park.

He’s upped that production in the NFL, totaling 237 total tackles, 7 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 9 interceptions and 28 pass deflections. He’s likely to add to those totals against the Vikings.
