Cam Rising, Utah’s star quarterback, went down after taking a hard hit in the Rose Bowl against Penn State. He left the game shortly thereafter, seeing backup Bryson Barnes enter the game in relief.
This is the 2nd straight season that Rising has exited the Rose Bowl with an injury.
Cam Rising down. Bryson Barnes warming. You might remember Barnes from last year’s incredible Rose Bowl.

Rising was just starting to heat up for the Utes, who currently trail 21-14 halfway through the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately for Utah, this game may soon be over if Rising doesn’t return to action soon.
Penn State’s defense is playing well enough against the Utes. They already intercepted Rising, but now have intercepted Barnes during his first drive at the helm of the offense. The Nittany Lions were not able to capitalize on the turnover.
Hopefully Rising is okay and did not suffer any major injury.
