Purdue found its next DL coach on Wednesday. The Boilermakers didn’t have to leave the B1G to find their replacement, per ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg.
Purdue is reportedly bringing on Minnesota DL coach Brick Haley to be its next DL coach. This hire should not be surprising since Haley worked alongside Ryan Walters as Missouri back in the day.
Haley has had other stops at Texas, LSU, and the Chicago Bears to name a few.
Sources: #Purdue is hiring #Minnesota defensive line coach Brick Haley for the same role. He spent 2022 with the Gophers after working alongside new Boilers coach Ryan Walters at Missouri (2017-2020). Haley also has coached D-line at Texas, LSU, Chicago Bears and elsewhere.

Purdue finished towards the middle of the pack in the B1G when it comes to rushing yards allowed per game (136.2). Walters will be hoping that the hiring of Haley will change that part of the defense for the better in 2023.
The Boilermakers were not able to earn a win in their bowl game against LSU. Purdue was embarrassed by a score of 63-7 in the Citrus Bowl.
The Minnesota DL allowed 105. 8 total yards rushing per game under Haley this past season.
