A tough test against a good Maryland team just got that much tougher for Ohio State. The Buckeyes will once again be without star center Zed Key after he missed the majority or Thursday’s game against Purdue with a shoulder injury.
The Buckeyes made it official Sunday morning. Meanwhile, starting shooting guard Sean McNeil is expected to be available against the Terrapins.

Key is averaging just over 12 points and 7.8 rebounds per game for the Buckeyes this season across 14 games.
Ohio State will likely turn to Felix Okpara at the 5 against Maryland. The freshman stands at 6-foot-11 and is a sufficient defensive threat, but nowhere near Key’s production.
Ohio State currently has the No. 1 offense in the nation per KenPom, but will take a hit on a defense that is already borderline struggling as it is. In a tough B1G conference, improving to 3-1 is paramount over dropping to 2-2 to a good Maryland squad.
Things are starting to really heat up in college basketball!
