Andy Katz has released his updated B1G basketball rankings.
Before revealing his rankings, Katz emphasized that these rankings are not projected tournament seeding. Instead, these rankings are “a snapshot of who is playing well right now.”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Katz has 3rd-ranked Purdue in the top spot for the B1G.
Michigan State, Iowa, Rutgers, and Ohio State make up the rest of the top 5.

The rest of the B1G rankings are as follows:
6. Northwestern
7. Illinois
8. Wisconsin
9. Michigan
10. Penn State
11. Indiana
12. Maryland
13. Nebraska
14. Minnesota
While the Badgers are the only B1G team currently ranked in the top 25 other than the Boilermakers, Katz has the team at 8th in the B1G after losing to unranked Illinois.
The blazing-hot Spartans come in at the 2nd spot after winning 6 games in a row. The Golden Gophers hold last place due to being the only B1G team without a conference win.
