Tayven Jackson has a new home.

The former Tennessee QB announced on Twitter that he will be transferring to Indiana. An Indiana native, the QB was a 4-star recruit out of Center Grove High School in Greenwood in the class of 2022.

Jackson was stuck in a logjam in Knoxville, so a transfer made sense. Joe Milton III is expected to start for the Volunteers in 2023, while 5-star Nico Iamaleava is waiting in the wings. These factors made it difficult to see a scenario where Jackson gets extended playing time.

In 2022, Jackson appeared in 3 games for the Vols and ended the season 3-of-4 for 37 yards. At Indiana, Jackson is expected to compete with Dexter Williams III in 2023. The Hoosiers saw 3 QBs enter the transfer portal after the 2022 season- Jack Tuttle, Grant Gremel, and Connor Bazelak.
