Minnesota starting offensive tackle Nick Connelly is retiring from the Golden Gophers football team.
Connelly started five games for Minnesota this year, before leaving the game against Purdue on Oct. 7. He’s struggled with concussions, which seems to be the reason he’s retiring:
It’s 5 known concussions in the last 6 years for #Gophers RT Nick Connelly. Had another recent one, and now isn’t listed on the roster.

The Golden Gophers have used Garrison Wright and Sam Schlueter at right tackle since Connelly went down with his injury.
