Zach Edey has developed into a legitimate National Player of the Year candidate for top-ranked Purdue this season. On Saturday, he leads the Boilermakers into Assembly Hall for a rivalry showdown vs. Indiana.
During Saturday morning’s College GameDay broadcast, ESPN’s Rece Davis went with the Purdue big man as his pick for “Dude of the Day.” Though facing Trayce Jackson-Davis and the Hoosiers in a tough road environment, Davis is predicting Edey to thrive on the big stage.
“We’ve had a run on big men today, I’m gonna go with Zach Edey of Purdue,” said Davis. “Put all the ‘Dude’ points together — points, rebounds, blocks, steals, assists — (and) I’m going to set the over/under at 39.5 for me and take the over against Indiana.”

Even on the road, it is hard to pick against Edey. He’s averaging 22 points, 13 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.1 blocks this season for Purdue, all while shooting 62% from the floor.
Edey also has back-to-back double-doubles, including a 38-point outing against Michigan State on Jan. 29. Saturday’s tip-off vs. Indiana is set for 4 pm ET on ESPN.
