Maryland’s special teams unit came through in a big way in the first half of Saturday’s game against Indiana.
In the second quarter, the Hoosiers lined up to punt the ball away on fourth down, holding onto a 16-7 lead on the road. But the Terrapins’ special teams unit was able to break through the front line and was able to block the punt and then followed it up with a scoop and score.
Darnell Savage was the Terrapin who came up with the block, recover and the touchdown.

After falling down by two scores early in the game, Maryland needed some kind of big play to create some momentum. Savage’s efforts definitely gave the Terps a boost.
Hopefully they broke out that “Excessive Juice” sign, too.
