Ohio State is hiring Gerren DuHart as an assistant defensive backs coach.

DuHart made that announcement on Tuesday afternoon. He was previously a graduate assistant at Michigan State.

Here’s his announcement:

DuHart says he will work with Ohio State’s defensive backs in 2023, presumably assisting cornerbacks coach Tim Walton and safeties coach Perry Eliano.

DuHart coached in a similar role last season at Michigan State as a graduate assistant. Prior to joining the Spartans, he worked as a graduate assistant at his alma mater, Wayne State.

He began his coaching career at the high school level as an assistant. He was an assistant coach at his alma mater, Toledo Central Catholic High School, from 2015-17.

As a player, DuHart was a standout cornerback for Wayne State from 2010-14. He made 40 starts for the Warriors and left the program in 2nd place all-time in career pass breakups with 27.
