Tariq Woolen, Seahawks DB, makes interesting remark regarding Russell Wilson’s physique

It’s not a secret that former Wisconsin quarterback Russell Wilson and his old team in Seattle don’t get along too well. His beef with Seahawks HC Pete Carrol is also well-documented.

Tariq Woolen, a rookie cornerback with the Seahawks and one of the more promising young players in the league, relayed his first impressions of Wilson from the Seahawks’ game against Denver last season.

He recalled that first impression on the 2 Up 2 Down podcast last week, comparing his physique to – his words – a sack of potatoes:

“When you see him in person, it’s like, weird,” Woolen said. “He’s like a sack of potatoes… Literally when I seen him, I’m like, ‘Dang, I didn’t know he was built like that.'”

Haven’t heard that one before.

Woolen’s comments were not all negative, however. He also stated, “The crazy thing is he’s athletic. He’s athletic and he’s a good player.”

So far, the Seahawks seem to have gotten the better end of the deal. Wilson wasn’t the main problem in Denver this past season, but he also didn’t quite live up to expectations in Year 1.

Can he turn that around in 2023?
