Donovan Raiola, Nebraska OL coach, reflects on staying with program and his unit’s improvements in 2022

Donovan Raiola was the only coach retained from the previous staff at Nebraska, and he met with the media on Wednesday to reflect on last season and the performance of the offensive line.

Raiola said each game last season the offensive line improved, and it was a process for the unit.

“As the season went on, they got better and better, and that’s all we’re focused on, focusing on our process of improvement, and that’s what we’re going forward with,” Raiola said.

Asked about his decision to stay with the program, Raiola, who previously spent 4 seasons as an assistant offensive line coach with the Chicago Bears, called it an easy decision.

“This is a special place to us, to me, and my family,” he said. “And then being around these men, Coach Rhule and his staff, it was a no-brainer for me.”
