Joey Porter Jr. says he’s the best CB in the NFL Draft, and explains why

Joey Porter Jr. is projected to be a first-round draft pick later this spring, but the former Penn State star on Thursday took his expectation one more step.
“I feel like I’m CB1 for a reason,” he said. “I feel like I’m the best corner here. I’m here to show my talents and prove why.”
“Teams are getting a competitor who competes at everything he does,” he said. “I feel like l’m my Dad on the field, and my Mom’s persona off it. I feel like it’s a good mix.”
Porter, after all, has looked forward to this process for a long time. He said he was going to enter the NFL Draft after last season, but his parents sat him down and told him he wasn’t ready.
“It definitely hurt … but they were right,” he said.
Porter was asked about potentially playing for several teams, and he explained his feelings about that.
“I think it would mean a lot to my family,” he said. “Been in the Pittsburgh area a while, staying home would mean a lot.”
About Baltimore, he said, “I never had any ill will toward the Ravens. That was more my dad.”
As for the Patriots, Porter said, “They’re a pretty good organization. I don’t think he (Porter’s father) would be too mad. He’ll just be happy I got picked by a team that wanted me.”
The Commanders are one team who already have plenty of Penn State players on the roster, including Jahan Dotson, Shaka Toney, Tariq Castro-Fields.
“I talked to them a lot,” he said.
