Iowa couldn’t have started the game any better.

On the first play of the Ohio State-Iowa game at Kinnick Stadium, Amani Hooker stepped in front of a J.T. Barrett pass, picked it off and ran it 30 yards to the end zone to give the Hawkeyes a touchdown lead.

It was exactly the kind of play Iowa needed for a game of this magnitude. It also ended Barrett’s streak of six-straight games without an interception.

The interception was the second of the season for Hooker. Coincidentally, it was also the second pick that Barrett has thrown this season.

Hooker has also tallied 40 tackles and has broken up two passes on the year. But this was arguably one of the best plays for the Hawkeyes this season.
