The Nebraska Cornhuskers went into halftime trailing Northwestern, 17-14. But less than a minute into the second half, the Cornhuskers gained the lead thanks to a Marcus Newby pick-6.
On first and 10, Northwestern quarterback Clayton Thorson gunned a pass but overthrew his intended receiver and right into Newby’s hands. Newby would then take Thorson’s pass 49 yards for the score.
That would give Nebraska its first lead of the game.
