Mike Gesicki will finally get to play for Bill O’Brien. The former Penn State tight end is on the move in NFL free agency.

After 5 years with the Miami Dolphins, Gesicki has signed with the New England Patriots.

Gesicki committed to play for Penn State on Oct. 17, 2013, during O’Brien’s final season as the Nittany Lions head coach. O’Brien departed to take the Houston Texans job, but Gesicki kept his commitment to PSU and played 4 seasons. The Patriots hired O’Brien as the team’s new offensive coordinator this offseason.

The Miami Dolphins selected Gesicki No. 42 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. In 5 seasons, Gesicki has played in 81 regular-season contests, starting 31. Gesicki has 231 catches for 2,617 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career. He’s coming off of a 32-catch season for 362 yards and 5 TDs in 2022.
