Indiana basketball came up short of the program’s first Sweet 16 since 2016 Sunday, falling to 5-seed Miami 85-69.
Trayce Jackson-Davis was incredible as usual down low, totaling 23 points with 8 rebounds. Indiana guards, on the other hand, struggled to slow down the Miami duo of Isaiah Wong and Jordan Miller, who combined to score 46 points and nab 13 rebounds. Wong led all scorers with 27.
Miami dominated the boards, too. The Hurricanes totaled 47 rebounds to Indiana’s 30. That discrepancy gave Miami more opportunities to score — In total, Miami took 10 more shots than the Hoosiers, and at a better clip, too (48% vs. 42%).
With Indiana’s loss, the only B1G team remaining in the tournament is Michigan State.

Success about March is all about guard play, after all. And though Indiana guards have played well all season, Miami has perhaps the top guard tandem in the country.
With the win, the Hurricanes advance to play Houston on Friday.
