Anthony Grant is not with Nebraska as the Huskers open spring practices. Head coach Matt Rhule announced the news on Monday.
According to Rhule, Grant’s suspension is not related to anything bad off the field. The move is to allow Grant to focus on academics and the standards of the team, but the expectation is to have the running back to return to the fold down the road.

Hopefully, the suspension is simply a matter of growth and timing for Grant due to his massive importance with the offense. During the 2022 season, Grant was a true workhorse while rushing for 915 yards and 6 touchdowns.
No other player on Nebraska’s roster reached 200 yards rushing last season, so there’s no denying the importance of Grant moving forward.
Rhule also announced CB Tyreke Johnson and TE Chris Hickman are no longer with the team.
