Bai Jobe was the highest-rated signee in Michigan State’s 2023 recruiting class. He was rated 4-stars, the No. 9 edge defender and No. 54 prospect overall on the 247Sports Composite. Josh Pate of 247Sports expects Jobe to make an instant impact.

Part of the reason for Pate’s prediction is that the Spartans need Jobe to be a disruptor.

“You watch Michigan State last year, as opposed to 2 years ago, they didn’t have difference makers,” Pate said. “They just didn’t. It’s a tall task to ask true freshmen to come in and be your difference makers. But when you’re void of them, they’re not all of a sudden going to appear on your roster – very rarely does it happen that way. You will need an infusion of talent. He’s got to be that.”

Jobe chose MSU over 29 other scholarship offers, including Alabama. Michigan State opened spring practice on March 14. Fans can get an early look at Jobe in action in the Green and White spring game, set for April 15.
