Iowa has been named the Team of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America after a 55-24 win over No. 6 Ohio State on Saturday.

The Hawkeyes were recognized for the award on Monday afternoon. This is the third time in the program’s history they’ve earned the honor.

Iowa snapped a five-game losing streak to the Buckeyes, having last posted a win in the series in 2004. The 31 point defeat was the largest Ohio State has suffered this season.

The Hawkeyes worked their way into the Associated Press’ Top 25 after the victory and are now 6-3 on the season and 3-3 in B1G play.

Earlier on Monday, Hawkeyes cornerback Josh Jackson was named the B1G co-Defensive Player of the Week after recording three interceptions against the Buckeyes.

This was the second time in the last two years Iowa has knocked off a top 10 team at Kinnick Stadium. Last year, the Hawkeyes defeated No. 3 Michigan on a last-second field goal.
