Ta’Lon Cooper announced that he would eb transferring from Minnesota at the end of the regular season. Perhaps Minnesota’s top guard, Cooper is a strong shooter, a capable floor general and a sneaky good defender.

Cooper made a lot of folks in SEC country happy on Wednesday, when he announced that he would be transferring to South Carolina for his final year in college basketball.

Cooper, a former Morehead State transfer, will have 1 year of eligibility remaining for the Gamecocks.

South Carolina needs all the help it can get, and Cooper is a good starting place for head coach Lamont Paris. South Carolina won just 11 games this season and 4 games in conference play, finishing 3rd to last in the SEC.

Minnesota knows the feeling. The Golden Gophers are in need of a spark in a desperate way, finishing last season 9-22 with just 2 conference wins.
