On Tuesday, USA TODAY Sports’ released a Network Heisman survey, in which 20 official Heisman electors who work for Gannett properties participated in. In that survey, Penn State running back Saquon Barkley came in second.

In the survey, Barkley received zero first place, 12 second place and two third place votes. Barkley probably comes in second instead of first because of his back-to-back poor performances.

The past two weeks, Barkley hasn’t been as electric as he used too. Against Ohio State, Barkley only ran for 44 yards and a touchdown and against Michigan State, he rushed for 63 yards and zero touchdowns. Those aren’t Heisman performances.

Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield came in first in the survey after passing for 598 yards and five TDs and ran for another score in the Sooners 62-52 victory over the Oklahoma State Cowboys. He now has 28 TD throws on the season and a 71.7% completion rate.
