Brandon Newman has made plans for next season, as the senior guard at Purdue will look for a change of scenery.

Newman shared on social media that he’s entering the transfer portal after he averaged 6.0 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists.

Purdue,

Can’t express enough how grateful I am for these last four years. The good times and the bad, that has molded me into the man I am today. This University will be a part of me and will travel with me everywhere I go.
Forever and always.

Love,

Newman, who played in high school at Valparaiso had an up and down career and was in and out of the starting lineup for much of his career. But near the end of this past season, Newman appeared to find a stride, as he was in the starting lineup during the last 6 games. The Boilermakers won 5 straight, including the Big Ten tournament title with Newman in the starting lineup before the loss to Fairleigh Dickinson in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

Newman’s departure opens some playing time on the perimeter for the likes of Myles Colvin and Camden Heide.
