Nebraska redshirt freshman receiver JD Spielman is close to breaking numerous records in his first season with the Huskers. He’s approaching the freshman all-purpose yards and receiving yards as a freshman records.

Spielman has 40 receptions for 593 yards and two touchdowns this season, including 1,154 all-purpose yards.

Ahmad Green set the freshman all-purpose yards record with 1,259 yards in 1995.

The Huskers travel to Minnesota to face the Golden Gophers on Saturday with kickoff set for noon ET. Both teams have three games left and are vying for a bowl bid, which requires six wins.
