After playing well in Wisconsin’s first three games, sophomore quarterback Alex Hornibrook has struggled. But he isn’t worried about criticism regarding his play.

He’s thrown nine interceptions this season, ranking third among B1G quarterbacks and tied for 11th most in college football. While Badger fans have wondered if Hornibrook is the right guy at quarterback, he hasn’t paid any attention to the discussions.

“The point is it doesn’t really matter what other people are saying,” said Hornibrook after Tuesday’s practice. “The only thing that matters for us when we’re playing is the people in that locker room, the coaches. So when you hear stuff from the outside, it doesn’t really make a difference to what you’re doing.”

Besides the interceptions, Hornibrook ranks second in the B1G in pass-efficiency rating of 158.3 ranks, which is second behind Ohio State’s J.T. Barrett and 12th in college football. Hornibrook also has a 64.4 percent completion rate, ranking fourth in the B1G and 26th in the country.

Undefeated Wisconsin (9-0) faces Iowa (6-3) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Camp Randall Stadium and needs to win its remaining games to have a chance at making the College Football Playoffs.
