Joey Baker, Michigan guard, reportedly makes decision on plans for 2023-24 season

Joey Baker, a Michigan guard who transferred from Duke and considered a 6th season, has reportedly decided on his basketball future.

Baker was the only player to be honored during the Michigan’s senior day, but after he considered returning to college, Jon Rothstein, a college basketball insider, has reported that Baker plans to sign with an agent and begin a pro career.

Baker had an extensive career at Michigan and Duke, and overall appeared in 122 career games. He made a combined 9 starts between the schools, and scored 556 points, as he averaged 5.7 points per game at Michigan, and 4.1 at Duke. Overall, 118 of his 188 career field goals (65.5%) were 3-pointers.

Baker is the latest departure from Michigan’s roster after Kobe Bufkin and Jett Howard left for the NBA and Hunter Dickinson and Isaiah Barnes went to the transfer portal.
