PJ Fleck confirms Minnesota has lost quarterback to transfer portal

PJ Fleck confirmed this week that freshman quarterback Jacob Knuth is no longer on the team.
Knuth, who shared the news on on social media, signed as a part of the 2022 recruiting class for the Gophers and had been enrolled since June. Knuth was the top-rated player in South Dakota in the 2022 class, and chose Minnesota over Kansas State among 7 offers.
Knuth put it this way: “After many prayers and difficult conversations, I have decided to enter the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility remaining. Thank you to Coach Fleck, the entire coaching staff, and my teammates for my time at Minnesota-I’m forever grateful.”

The remaining QBs on the roster are Athan Kaliakmanis and Cole Kramer along with true freshman Drew Viotto.
