Penn State added a major piece to its 2025 recruiting class on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions picked up a commitment from 4-star running back Kiandrea Barker. He chose Penn State over offers from programs such as Texas A&M, Florida State, Miami, Ole Miss and numerous other top programs.

Here’s his announcement:

Barker attends The Woodlands High School, which is near the Houston area. He previously played for Beebe High School in Beebe, Arkansas. He’s listed at 5-foot-11, 183 pounds.

He is a major pickup for Penn State. Barker is currently ranked as the No. 75 overall player and the No. 9 running back in the country for this class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 10 player from the state of Texas.

He becomes the 3rd player to commit to Penn State so far in the class of 2025. It’s still very early in the 2025 cycle, but the Nittany Lions are ahead of their peers so far. Penn State’s 2025 class ranks No. 4 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
