Michigan State adds pair of contests with in-state opponent to future schedule

Michigan State has added a couple of games to future schedules, the program announced Tuesday morning.
According to the release, the Spartans will face Western Michigan in 2028 and 2031. The 2028 matchup is set for Sept. 2 while the 2031 game will be played on Aug. 30.
Both games will be played at Spartan Stadium in East Lansing.

The Broncos out of the MAC have been a regular nonconference opponent for Michigan State in recent history. Since 2003, the two sides have played 8 times with the Spartans winning every matchup.
Most recently, Michigan State beat Western Michigan 35-13 last season. The Spartans are 15-2 all-time in the series and have won 13 straight. The Broncos last beat Michigan State in the 1919 season.
