There isn’t much Michigan did wrong against Maryland. Even when the Terrapins tried to sneak into the end zone near the end of the first half, the Wolverines defense shut it down.
With less than three minutes left in the half and trailing 28-0, Maryland was trying to get some momentum going into the locker room. And with the ball inside the red zone, it looked like the Terps might actually be able to get a few points on the board.
But Michigan’s David Long ended that dream, coming up with an interception in the end zone and racing down the field, putting the Wolverines in excellent position to put a few more points of their own on the scoreboard.

Long’s interception was his second of the season and the seventh for Michigan. He’s also recorded 13 tackles and a pair of pass break-ups this fall.
The Wolverines weren’t able to capitalize before the half, but it was still a great play that kept Maryland off the scoreboard in the first half.
