Could C.J. Stroud and Jaxon Smith-Njigba be teammates next year too?

The dangerous Ohio State duo are both set to be high draft picks in the upcoming 2023 NFL Draft, with Stroud projected top 5 and JSN projected top 20. But could there be a chance they are both drafted by the same team? Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt thinks there’s a strong possibility.

He theorized Sunday that the Houston Texans could select Stroud with the No. 2 overall pick before turning around and selecting JSN with the No. 12 overall pick.

Of course, the Texans are widely believed to be in the market for a new young quarterback, and their best current WR is a 31-year old Robert Woods. Not exactly the weapon you’d want playing WR1 for your new rookie QB!

Check out Klatt’s full comments on the possibility below:

JSN struggled last season after recovering from injury and missing the better part of the last half of the year while preparing for the draft. if not, this scenario likely would not be possible because Smith-Njigba would be a top 5 pick.

And it’s hard to predict where Stroud will go. The Panthers could still take him No. 1 overall, but it seems much more likely that Bryce Young will be selected by Carolina. Houston needs a QB, but could they decided the risk/reward of Will Levis or Anthony Richardson is a better selection than Stroud?

We’ll find out for sure next Thursday!
