Ohio State small forward and former Wright State star Tanner Holden announced Wednesday that he will enter the transfer portal to play his final season in college basketball.
Holden played 3 seasons at Wright State before transferring to Ohio State last season. He was purely a rotational player for the Buckeyes and averaged under 4 points per game in 2023. He scored in double figures just once in Columbus in his very first game as a Buckeye against Robert Morris.
But he was a much different player at Wright State. Holden averaged over 20 points per game in 2022, adding 7 rebounds per game.

Holden obviously has the talent, but he was not quite ready for the physicality of the B1G. Should he return to the Mid-Major level, he should be primed for a strong final season in college basketball.
