Former Michigan CB Gemon Green has an opportunity to make an NFL roster. After going undrafted, Green is reportedly signing with the New York Giants.
Green was with the Wolverines for 5 seasons. He redshirted in 2018 and played in 42 games over the next 5 seasons, making 24 starts. The NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for 2020 allowed Green to potentially return for a Year 6 of college football.
Green first saw the field in 2019 as a special teams contributor, making 1 appearance on defense. In 2020, he stepped into a starting role on defense at cornerback, logging 22 tackles and a team-high 9 pass breakups.
Green again made 6 starts in 2021, appearing in 12 games. He logged 24 tackles that season, his senior year academically.
This past season, as a graduate student-athlete, Green appeared in 13 games and made 10 starts. He recorded 20 tackles and 4 pass breakups, earning All-B1G honorable mention recognition.
We’ll see how Green fares in Giants camp.
