Tom Brady to be honored by New England Patriots during ‘Thank you Tom game’

Tom Brady will be honored by the organization where the legendary quarterback enjoyed loads of memorable success.

Brady, who retired after last season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will be honored at the New England Patriots’ home opener at Gillette Stadium. Ahead of the NFL’s Thursday night schedule release, the Patriots said full game information will be out on Thursday night.

Brady retired at age 45 after he collected virtually every meaningful NFL passing record in an unprecedented 23-year career in which he’s known as the greatest quarterback of all time.

Brady has a long highlight reel with the Patriots, starting when he took over as the Patriots’ starter famously after an injury to Drew Bledsoe. The team beat the St. Louis Rams in the Super Bowl to end the 2001 season and he and New England coach Bill Belichick became the most successful coach-QB duo in football history.

They added Super Bowl wins after the 2003 and 2004 seasons, and won a 4th time to end the 2014 season, which ignited 3 more titles in a span of 5 years.

As much as success is as part of his career, his NFL start is almost equally remembered. Brady was picked 199th in the 2000 draft by the Patriots out of Michigan, behind 6 other quarterbacks, 3 kickers and a punter.
