There has been plenty of debate and conversation about the most recent College Football Playoff poll. With two weeks left in the regular season, there’s plenty of disagreement about which teams belong in the conversation.
Big Ten Network analyst Glen Mason jumped in on that conversation after the polls were released Tuesday night. The former Minnesota head coach is really high on Wisconsin right now, and thinks Clemson might be a bit overrated.
“I totally disagree,” Mason said of Clemson being ranked No. 2. “Heck, I don’t have them in my top four. Their loss to Syracuse, it seems like everybody — at least the committee — wants to give them a pass. Not so fast, from me. I don’t have them in the top four.”
After disregarding the Tigers as a playoff team this week, Mason went on to talk about Wisconsin and how the Badgers, with a 10-0 record, are deserving of one of those four spots.
“Where they’re sitting right now, if they win out, they’ll be in the College Football Playoff,” he said. “I guess where (Wisconsin) is at, they’re finally getting everybody’s attention.”
Mason also talked about how Ohio State has worked its way back into the conversation. He believes if a few things fall in place and the Buckeyes win out, they’ve got a really good chance to get back into the Playoff picture.
